High efficiency gas direct vent fireplaces have become very popular in recent years. They are energy efficient, easy to install, flexible, attractive and achieve very natural looking flames. These units can be vented directly through a wall, similar to a gas dryer. Direct vent products are sealed combustion appliances that do not use room air from your home for combustion. A two-wall pipe venting system carries the flue gases to the outside while bringing in fresh outside air for combustion. Direct vent fireplaces can be vented through the ceiling or directly through the wall.

Direct vent units are used in new home construction as well as for home additions and remodels. These appliances can be more than 80% efficient. Due to their heater rating, direct vents can be used as either a supplementary or primary heat source.

Commercial applications can take advantage of direct vent technology and design. Direct vent units are energy efficient to run, and can be installed in locations that would be impossible with a conventional fireplace. The units can be operated by a simple on/off switch or controlled by a wall mounted thermostat.
