enson Stone Company recently installed a new Destiny CNC machine. The Destiny is capable of machining almost any material. The machines primary function for Benson Stone Company will be fabrication of granite and marble countertops.

The Destiny is a truly amazing piece of technology. It is capable of tolerances to within .001 of an inch, which far surpasses the requirements for quality countertop fabrication. I had the opportunity to observe as Benson’s machine operator first moved the Destiny 60", then 40", and finally .005 of an inch. Since my eye could not detect the .005 of an inch movement, the operator drew a line on a piece of paper that was lined up with Destiny's laser. He then moved the machine .015 of an inch so I could see the adjustment. Very impressive.

Accuracy, time savings and more design flexibility are a few areas where the Destiny provides advantages over traditional fabrication processes. This machine is capable of cutting almost any special shape quickly, easily, accurately and with no hand work necessary.

The process:

1) A digitizer is used to measure the cabinets on-site.

2) Information is entered into a file in a computer.

3) The information is then transferred from the computer to the Destiny CNC machine.

4) Material is cut, shaped and polished by Destiny.
